The US Air Force’s Thunderbirds Fly in Honor of the Health Workers Fighting the Outbreak

The Thunderbirds are the United States Air Force Air Demonstration Squadron, dedicated to aerobatic flight.

It was created in 1953 and adopted that name due to the cultural influence of the Native Americans of the southwestern United States, as reported by the Thunderbirds website itself.

This aviation team will be touring, demonstrating flights in honor of the front line workers battling the coronavirus outbreak in the United States.

This has been said by the President of the United States himself, Donald Trump, who explained that the Thunderbirds and also the Blue Angels will fly throughout the country with that objective of thanking the health workers, as reported by Fox News.

One of the flights that the Thunderbirds will carry out will take place  this Saturday, due to the graduation of the new lieutenants who are completing their training at the Air Force Academy, since, according to a statement from the Thunderbirds, the coronavirus pandemic has prevented many of the celebrations that graduates often hold.

In this way, they will fly over various communities in Colorado to honor health workers, the military and other essential professionals in the fight against the pandemic.

The demonstration will last one hour and will start around 12:50 pm.

“Our team is honored to thank the countless people of Colorado who work every day to support their communities during this difficult time in our nation,” said Lt. Col. John Caldwell, Thunderbirds commander and leader.
