Ryanair cancels 600 flights from the UK due to cabin crew strike

RyanairBritish employees of the low-cost airline Ryanair starts a two-day strike, which will affect more than 50,000 passengers. The airline had to cancel about 600 flights from Great Britain to Belgium, Portugal and Spain, as flight attendants and pilots of Ryanair complain crew starts a strike in request for higher pays.

However, the airline representatives do not consider the reason for the strikes justified.

“Considering that the Ryanair crew is paid additional bonuses to the salary of 40,000 EUR per year, and also that they receive various benefits and have the best schedule in the industry, we believe that their strike is completely unjustified. This will only lead to a spoiled holiday of many families and will benefit our competitors in Belgium, Portugal and Spain”, commented the Chief Marketing Officer of Ryanair, Kenny Jacobs.

The airline also apologized to customers and said that it involved additional employees who will help reimburse for canceled flights in the coming week.

In June 2017, the British airline British Airways canceled more than 60 flights from London’s Heathrow airport in connection with the 16-day strike of personnel. In the strike, which began on July 1, about 35% of the total number of flight attendants of British Airways took part.
