No major cancellation and delay of flights to Russian Domodedovo airport is expected due to snowfall, but minor delays in the departure of flights are possible due to the de-icing treatment of the aircraft and the clearing of the runways.
Snowfall in the Russian capital started on Thursday afternoon. The bad weather is expected to last on Friday as well.
“Visibility in the area is sufficient for timely arrival and departure of flights – more than three thousand meters. There are no cancellations and delays of flights due to weather conditions”, says the official statement of the Domodedovo Airport.
To ensure safety of flights, each aircraft undergoes de-icing processing, with the help of special equipment, taxiways and runways are cleared. In this regard, there may be minor technical delays of up to 20 minutes, added at the airport.
