Russian and Egyptian Air Defense Systems Repel a Massive Simulated Attack with Drones in the Desert [VIDEO]

Anti-aircraft missile units of Russia and Egypt met for the first time joint real-fire practices with different armaments of that nature, during international exercises carried out near the Egyptian capital, Cairo.

The joint forces, equipped with Buk-M2E and Tor-M2E air defense systems, intercepted and shot down an unmanned aerial vehicle approaching an air base.

The respective endowments were composed of Russian and Egyptian military, who attended them in turns.

The video allows observing the launches of S-125 Pechora and Buk-2M systems, as well as those of the targets that pretended to be aircraft of potential enemies.

In turn, RussianEgyptian mixed anti-aircraft defense units, opened with portable Igla-S systems mounted on SUVs, destroyed a conventional enemy helicopter, while mixed endowments of 23 mm Shilka-M4 automatic cannon systems practiced fire against lightly armored vehicles and potential enemy troops.

The maneuvers were inspected by the air defense commander of the Russian Land Troops, Lieutenant General Alexánder Leónov, and by the Air Defense Commander of the Egyptian Army, Lieutenant General Ali Fahmi.

Leonov explained that the S-125 Pechora, Buk-M2, Tor-M2, ZSU-23-4 Shilka and others, all Russian-made systems were also involved in the exercises.
