Robot will monitor suspicious people at Dubai Airport

Dubai AirportA robot that can monitor suspicious people and report on their actions, will soon appear at the airport of Dubai. Dubai Customs has already tested the first such robot and it will be launched in the arrivals sector.

“It’s an android, it’s not completely launched yet, but has passed the pilot stage at airports”, said Khalid Al Zarooni, innovation specialist at Dubai Custom’s Innovation Center.

The android will be able to recognize faces, and will also have the capabilities of X-ray scanning and thermal vision. It will collect information about any suspicious behavior and deliver it to a special center. In the absence of threats, the robot will simply welcome the passengers.

Dubai Customs were displaying a total of 10 of their best innovations through a photo gallery at the forum.
