Passenger arrested in Malaga after trying to leave aircraft through an emergency exit

Ryanair passengerPassenger of the Ryanair flight from London to Malaga was arrested by the Spanish police after trying to leave the plane through an emergency exit. The aircraft departed from London Stansted Airport on January 1 with a significant delay, and in Malaga, where it arrived after 23:00 local time, passengers were forced to await on board of the aircraft another half an hour after landing.

One of them, a 57-year-old Polish citizen named Victor, was tired of waiting and climbed onto the wing with hand luggage through the emergency hatch. He could not go down to the ground and sat on the wing until the flight attendants and ground staff at the airport convinced him to return to the plane.

“Police at the airport in Malaga immediately arrested the passenger, and as there was a violation of Spanish rules and safety standards, the case is being considered by the Spanish authorities”, said the official statement of Ryanair.

According to other passengers, the offender is an asthmatic person, who used the inhaler several times during the flight, and after landing he had another attack. He asked to be released from the airplane. However, the security service and cabin attendants did not listen to him, so he was forced to resolve the issue on his own.

Because of the incident, the landing was postponed for another 40 minutes.

The investigation for the root cause and circumstances is under investigation.
