One dead after aircraft Cessna 172 Skyhawk crashed in Texas

Cessna 172 Skyhawk crashOne person was killed and another was injured after a small aircraft Cessna 172 Skyhawk crashed in Lakeway, Texas. The aircraft impacted roadway terrain after experiencing a runway excursion at Lakeway Airpark, stopping in the area of the Hills Drive and Lakeway Boulevard. The emergency teams arrived at the scene of the accident several minutes later. When the first responders arrived, both people in the airplane were unconscious and taken to the hospital for medical treatment. Unfortunately, one of them died on the route to the hospital.

The aircraft sustained substantial damage. The local authorities initiated an investigation for the root cause of the crash. The weather in the vicinity was good, so according to preliminary information, the accident happened due to a technical problem.

Drivers should seek alternate routes and avoid the area, if possible.
