Light aircraft Lancair LC41-550FG landed at roadway terrain in Pennsylvania

Lancair LC41-550FGLight aircraft Lancair LC41-550FG landed to roadway terrain in Spring Brook Township, Pennsylvania. The aircraft took off from Lancaster with only with a pilot on board, but during the flight to Wings Field lost engine power and started losing height. The pilot decided to land on a roadway at Spring Brook Township neighbourhood. Fortunately, the landing came down on O’Hara Road near the intersection with Mislinski Road was safe and without causing injuries or fatalities. The aircraft Lancair LC41-550FG stopped in the backyard of a house near several homes.

The accident was reported to local authorities an at the scene of the accident were sent emergency teams.

The investigation for the root cause is underway. According to preliminary information, the aircraft lost power during flight after single-engine has blown.

Lancair LC41-550FG is aircraft manufactured by Cessna. The aircraft has a length of 7.70 m, a height of 2.75 m, a wingspan of 11.00 m and wing area of 3.90 sqm. The airplane is driven by TCM TSIO-550-C, 310 HP Platinum Twin Turbo Charged with 3-blade Hartzell propeller.
