Four people were injured during severe turbulence on Airbus A321-200 of Spirit Airlines during a flight from Atlantic City to Fort Lauderdale in USA. The aircraft was descending towards Fort Lauderdale when encountered severe turbulence, which caused injuries to three cabin crew and one passenger. The aircraft landed safely on runway 10R about 20 minutes later and all the people were disembarked.
The injured people were medical treated at the airport and were released for home treatment, without needed staying at hospital. The 3 cabin crew and one passenger received minor injuries when the aircraft encountered severe turbulence during the approach to Fort Lauderdale.
The investigation for the root cause of the accident is under investigation. The aircraft remained on ground during further security checks and ensure its safety.
