Bombardier extended the contract with Japanese corporation Teijin for delivery of carbon fiber materials

Japanese corporation Teijin Limited has announced that it has received a contract to supply Tenax carbon fiber materials to Bombardier Aerostructures and Engineering Services for another seven years to 2025.

Teijin focuses on shipments for the aircraft industry as one of the key elements of the growth strategy in its Medium Term Development Plan for 2017-2019. Corporations are rapidly developing the use in high production areas of such cost-effective materials as high-strength and high-modulus carbon fibers, Tenax TPUD thermoplastic unidirectional tapes, Tenax TPCL thermoplastic consolidated laminates, thermo-reactive prepregs, and direct-base fabrics. In the future, Teijin plans to further strengthen its business in the production of carbon fiber and composite materials and become a leading supplier of materials solutions for aircraft manufacturing with a target annual sales volume of over 900 million USD by 2030.

After receiving in 2010 a contract from Bombardier for the supply of Tenax carbon fiber for high- and medium-loaded structural elements of the aircraft, Teijin supplied this material for use in wing box, center-section and tail assembly of aircraft.
