The aircraft was en route from Damazin to Khartoum, but during the final approach impacted with kite or buzzard bird, suffering internal structural damage of the nose. The airplane continued to the airport for safe landing several minutes later without reporting injuries among the people on board. The pilot managed to keep the airplane and passengers despite the structural damages of the aircraft.

All the people were safely disembarked, but the aircraft Boeing 737 had significant damages. The local authorities and safety inspectors arrived at the scene of the accident to assess the condition of the airplane. It was detained for repairs and special survey before allowed to return in service.

The local authorities initiated investigation for the root cause of the accident.

Boeing 737 is a short- to medium-range twinjet narrow-body airliner developed and manufactured by Boeing Commercial Airplanes in the United States. Originally developed as a shorter, lower-cost twin-engine airliner has developed into a family of ten passenger models with capacities from 85 to 215 passengers. The 737 is Boeing’s only narrow-body airliner in production, with the 737 Next Generation (-700, -800, and -900ER) and the re-engined and redesigned 737 MAX variants currently being built.
