Astronomers Discover the Largest Neutron Star in the Universe

The Universe keeps impressive secrets that may still be unknown. With the effort of astronomers, there is more and more information about what is in space.

Such is the case of the American University of West Virginia, who made an extraordinary discovery.

It is the largest neutron star to date. The specialists said that it houses 2, 17 times the mass of the Sun in a sphere of 20 by 30 kilometers.

Through a publication by the journal Nature Astronomy it is ensured that the neutron star is a dense object that spins rapidly and consists mainly of tightly tight neutrons, which causes a collapse of a larger stellar body.

The finding is about 4,600 light years from our planet. He was seen with the help of the Green Bank telescope in the United States.

According to the publication that is based on the general theory of relativity of Albert Einstein, the gravity of an accompanying white dwarf star saves the space around it.
