An F / A-18E aircraft crashed near the China Lake Naval Air Weapons Station (NAWS) when it was serving a training flight. The cause of the accident is being investigated.
Washington. A fighter aircraft of the Navy United States crashed Wednesday near a base in the Mojave Desert (California), while serving a training flight, the Naval Air Force reported, adding that the cause of the accident is under investigation .
The aircraft, an F / A-18E, rushed ashore around 10.00 local time (17.00 GMT) near the Naval Air Weapons Station (NAWS) China Lake, the Naval Force detailed in its Twitter account.
Local media, including ABC News, which quoted a spokesman, said there is information about some Death Valley National Park visitors who may have suffered minor injuries, without providing further details.
Nor has it transcended information about the pilot.
According to the Naval Air Force, the plane, which is part of Strike Fighter Squadron One Five One (VFA-151), known as the “Rangers”, was “on a routine training flight when the accident occurred.”
“The cause of the accident is under investigation,” the institution added in its message on the social network, adding that NAWS search and rescue units and the Lemoore Naval Air Station (NASL) “are on the scene.”
ABC News said the wrecked plane was a “Super Hornet F / A-18E”, which was based on the Lemoore station.
