Aeroflot extended purchase order to VEB-Leasing for another 20 aircraft Sukhoi SuperJet 100

Sukhoi SuperJet 100Russian airline Aeroflot extended the purchase order to VEB-Leasing for another 20 aircraft Sukhoi SuperJet 100. Following the extension the company order book extended to 50 airplanes. The agreement was reached in the development of the Memorandum of Intent, signed by Aeroflot and the Sukhoi Civil Aircraft Company in January 2015. The new deliveries will allow Aeroflot to increase the number of aircraft of this type to 50 in its fleet – the youngest among the Top 20 airlines in the world in terms of passenger traffic.
 
Contracted aircraft will be delivered in a two-class arrangement: 12 seats in the business class lounge and 75 in the economy class salon. Aeroflot currently operates the SSJ 100 in the same specification – for 87 passengers. Thus, the maintenance base for new aircraft will not require significant changes.

The aircraft will be deployed on Russian destinations and routes to the CIS countries, as well as to fly to a number of European countries. The first aircraft should arrive this summer, and it is planned to complete the delivery exactly in a year, in July 2018”, said Yuri Slusar.

PJSC Aeroflot ot also knows as Russian Airlines is the flag carrier and largest airline of the Russian Federation. The carrier is an open joint stock company that operates domestic and international passenger and services, mainly from its hub at Sheremetyevo International Airport.
