The press service of the Ministry of Defense informs AZERTAG that flight and engineering personnel from the Turkish Air Force arrived in Azerbaijan to participate in the joint exercises “TurAz Qartalı-2019”.
In order to prepare for the exercise, adequate work is being carried out on personnel deployment, exercise planning and other organizational matters.
It should be noted that, in accordance with the annual military cooperation plan between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Turkey, a joint air and tactical exercise “TurAz Qartalı-2019” will be carried out with the participation of the air forces of both countries.
In the exercises that will begin on September 2, up to 30 aircraft of the Air Forces of Azerbaijan and Turkey will participate, including airplanes – MiG-29, F-16, Su-25, “Kasa” P-235, as well as helicopters – Mi -35, Mi-17, “Sikorsky” UH-70, CH-47 “Chinook”, and ATTACK / AH-1W.
During the exercises, joint activity planning tasks for the air assets of the Azerbaijan Air Force, the Air Force, the Navy and the Land Forces of Turkey, the study of interchangeability possibilities and the coordination of the fighting will be carried out in the conduct of operations, the execution of search and rescue operations, the destruction of targets on the ground by conducting air strikes, as well as other tasks.
The exercise will take place from September 2 to 16.
