Aeroflot Group reported a 14.5% increase of passenger turnover in January

Aeroflot groupRussian aviation group Aeroflot publishes the operating results for January 2019, reporting that during the month transported 4.2 million passengers, which represents an increase of 14.5% YoY. The number of passengers transported by Aeroflot airline totaled 2.8 million people, an increase of 13.4% over the same period last year.

The passenger turnover of the Aeroflot Group in January 2019 increased by 14.3% compared to the same period last year, while the passenger turnover of Aeroflot Airlines increased by 9.6%. The marginal passenger traffic growth was 16.4% for the Group and 12.3% for the airline.

The occupancy rate of passenger seats in the Aeroflot Group decreased by 1.4 percentage points compared to the same period last year, up to 75.9%. For Aeroflot Airlines, the percentage of passenger seat occupancy fell by 1.8 percentage points, to 73.2%.

Aeroflot Group has adopted a multi-brand structure that allows each subsidiary company to operate in its own market segment. Aeroflot Group includes Aeroflot (Russian Airlines), Rossiya, Aurora, and Pobeda. Aeroflot Airlines joined SkyTeam in April 2006, becoming the 10th member of the alliance.
