Sabre extends its long-term global distribution agreement with Qantas

QantasSabre Corporation, which is a leading technology provider to the global travel and tourism industry, announces the extension of its long-term global distribution agreement with Australian airline Qantas.

Sabre welcomes Qantas as a new member of the “More than NDC” program, confirming its intention to lead the evolution of the industry in the field of new generation of retail, distribution and trading operations. The carrier becomes a strategic partner of the Sabre initiative, designed to stimulate the development of the industry by developing and integrating integrated capabilities to work with offers distributed via the NDC protocol.

Sabre is also pleased to cooperate with the airline on the Qantas Channel project, aimed at increasing the level of personalization and ensuring comprehensive carrier interaction with customers through agent booking channels. Sabre will play an active role in the implementation of the Qantas Channel, work on which starts on August 1, 2019. By registering with Qantas Channel, Sabre-connected travel agencies will have access to broader airline content and the ability to work with reliable and relevant information to create comprehensive, personalized offers for consumers.

Commenting on the new distribution model of the airline, Vanessa Hudson, Chief Customer Officer of Qantas, noted that the carrier is happy to work with Sabre to provide agents around the world access to the Qantas Channel.
