Sheremetyevo Airport served more than 18 million passengers in first half of 2017

Sheremetyevo AirportThe international airport Sheremetyevo has summed up the production activity for June and the first half of 2017. The number of passengers served since the beginning of the year increased by 17.7% compared to the same period in 2016 and amounted to 18.144 million people.

“Passenger flow on international flights in January-June 2017 increased by 19.3% and reached 10 million people, while on domestic routes traffic grew by 15.9% to 8.143 million people. According to the data for June 2017, passenger traffic at Sheremetyevo Airport grew by 19% and amounted to 3.665 million people. The passenger flow on the international flights increased by 20.5% and amounted to 2.051 million people, and on the domestic routes grew by 17.2% to 1.614 million people”, notes the airport press service.
 
The most popular foreign destinations in June 2017 were Paris, Tel Aviv and Prague, while on domestic market were St. Petersburg, Sochi and Simferopol. The main volume of passenger traffic in January-June was provided by Aeroflot, Nordwind, Royal Flight, Ikar, Air France, Air Astana.

Airport Sheremetyevo in the first half of 2017 ensured the implementation of 143,826 landing operations, which is 10.2% more than in the same period in 2016. The number of landing operations in June increased by 12.9% to 26,408 operations.

Sheremetyevo is leader for Europe in the category of Major Airports, according to the ranking of the statistical company Flightstats, providing timely execution of 84.14% of flights.

July 1, 2017 Sheremetyevo Airport set a new production record – the daily number of landings reached 969 units. On July 15, 2017, the daily passenger traffic also set a record value of 142,047 people.
