At least three people died in crash of two F-7 fighter jets of the Myanmar Air Force

F-7 fighter jets crashAt least three people, including two pilots, died during crash of two F-7 fighter jets of the Myanmar Air Force in Minbu Township. The both fighters were flying in formation, but due to bad weather one of them hit the wing of the other aircraft and both struck a broadcast tower, falling on the ground. The both pilots died during the accident. The debris his 5th grade female student on the ground, who died minutes after the accident. Two other students received minor injuries.

The Office of the Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Services attributed the incident to bad weather, saying that two out of four jet fighters crashed while returning to Magway Airbase after flight training in the morning.

The crashed F-7 jets are most probably the export version of Chinese Chengdu J-7 of which Myanmar has 24 and only some 10 are in service.
