AirAsia X Airbus A330 made emergency landing at Okinawa’s Naha Airport

AirAsia X Airbus A330AirAsia X plane Airbus A330-300 made emergency landing at the Okinawa’s Naha Airport in Japan due to a technical problem. The aircraft with 369 guests and 10 crew on board take off from Tokyo en route to Kuala Lumpur, but was diverted to Okinawa after malfunction of one of the engines.

“A rescue flight will be launched from Kuala Lumpur and all affected guests will be transferred to Flight D7 689, which is scheduled to depart from Okinawa at 9.30 local time Monday”, says AirAsia X in a statement. “All necessary assistance is being provided to guests on board and they will be kept updated on the new departure time”, adds the statement.

All the people on board are safe without reporting injuries. All the necessary assistance is being provided to the guests.

The Airbus A330 is a medium- to long-range wide-body twin-engine jet airliner made by Airbus. Versions of the A330 have a range of 5,000 to 13,430 kilometres (2,700 to 7,250 nmi) and can accommodate up to 335 passengers in a two-class layout or carry 70 tonnes (154,000 lb) of cargo.
