The American aircraft manufacturer Boeing contracted sale of 95 new airplanes 737 MAX to Irish aviation leasing company Avolon. The total worth of the order is 11 billion USD, according to list price of the airplanes.
“Boeing and Avalon, the international aviation leasing company, today conclusively confirm the deal for the purchase and sale of 75 737 MAX airliners. The approved order includes 55 MAX 8 and 20 MAX 10 with the possibility of purchasing additional 20 MAX 8s”, said the official statement.
The negotiations around the deal started already five months ago. Then Boeing reported the signing of a memorandum of understanding with Avolon on the sale of 75 aircraft, calling the transaction amount of 8.4 billion USD.
“Today’s deal on the newest Boeing 737 MAX airliners will strengthen Avolon’s position as the leading leasing company in the global civil aviation market”, said CEO of Avolon, Domhnal Slattery.
Boeing produces a wide range of civil and military aircraft, develops space programs. The structure of Boeing operates two large divisions – Boeing Commercial Airplanes, engaged in the construction of civil aircraft, and Integrated Defense Systems, which performs space and military programs.
Avolon is one of the largest aviation leasing companies in the world. The company manages approximately 915 aircraft (as of September 30, 2017).
