1. Kobe Bryant – 2020
Kobe Bryant died on the afternoon of Sunday, January 26, 2020 after an accident with his private helicopter in California. He died with his daughter GiGi, 13, and seven other people who were flying with him.
2. Yordano Ventura – 2017
Yordano Ventura was a pitcher who played with the Kansas City Royals before tragically dying on January 22, 2017. The Dominican died in a car accident in his home country after his vehicle overturned.
3. José Fernández – 2016
José Fernández died in a tragic accident on September 26, 2016 in his boat while maneuvering along the shores of Miami Beach in Florida. At the time of his death he was under the influence of alcohol and cocaine.
4. Roy Halladay – 2017
Roy Halladay was one of the best pitchers of the first decade of this millennium and won two Cy Young, one with the Toronto Blue Jays and one with the Philadelphia Phillies. He died on November 7, 2017 when his plane crashed in the Gulf of Mexico on the Florida coast.
5. Roberto Clemente – 1972
Roberto Clemente is one of the most outstanding Latino players of all time. He died in a plane crash when he was carrying a cargo to help the victims of an earthquake in Managua, Nicaragua.
